Meatless Green Bean Bredie

  • 500g Green Beans, topped and tailed
  • 200g Onions, thinly sliced
  • 500g Potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 10ml Olive Oil
  • 500ml Vegetable Stock
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks


  1. Steam the potatoes till they are cooked but still firm.
  2. In a large saucepan heat the oil, then braise the sliced onions till translucent. Add seasoning.
  3. Add the green beans and stir till well mixed well; reduce the heat to med heat.
  4. When the green beans are soft add the stock, and the steamed potatoes, as well as the cinnamon stick.
  5. Season to taste if needed.
