Clover has a new recipe book on the shelf which has come just in time for Summer! Clover Favourite Braai Recipes features an array of creative and tasty braai recipes for those long hot days.
Professor Elain Vlok, Manager: Corporate Services, CLOVER states:
The braai is part and parcel of our South African culture. There are very few things that equal socialising and savouring delicious food around a fire – whether it’s in the bushveld with a jackal howling in the distance, around a modern gas braai on a chic patio somewhere in the suburbs, or on the balcony of a teeny tiny student flat.
Most of the recipes in this publication have a modern approach, because the author had experimented with new flavour combinations and features braai dishes with a twist. One of the great aspects of the cook book (apart from the delicious recipes!) is that a percentage of the book’s profits will be donated to the Clover Mama Afrika project.
The Clover Mama Afrika project started as a humble project 11 years ago and has since developed into Clover’s flagship CSI programme. The project currently has 40 Mamas who run successful care centres throughout South Africa. These remarkable women collectively care for over 15 500 children and 2 500 elderly people, many of which are abused, orphaned, homeless and vulnerable.
The cook book offers the following braai recipe categories:
- Snacks around the braai
- Salads
- Fish and seafood
- Beef, venison and lamb
- Bread and other bakes
- Desserts
Vlok says:
Whether you are entertaining meat eaters or vegetarians, are looking for scrumptious side dishes or salads, or just want to add a bit of oomph to your braai mains, we cover all of this and much more
